Spreading the Love

Gif and Marci came by today to take advantage of the suckering nature of my dogwood bushes. I was able to give them three small starts of Bailey Red Twig and Isanti dogwood, and two small starts of variegated dogwood. Today was clear but really too windy and cold to really enjoy being outside yet.

Getting rid of a few things

Well, this year I really have been brutal about getting rid of things that just don't please me anymore. I pulled out all of my mums, and then all of my Caryopteris. The honeysuckles and the vicary golden privets were the next to go. I have also moved some barberries--hopefully they will live through the abuse. I am excited about this year in the garden. Wedding receptions in June and August!!

April 18th

Someone magically mowed the front lawn for me today!! Anyway, I have all of the front yard cleaned up (except a small part of the back corner) for spring. I still have a lot of pruning to do in the back yard. I can only do so much a week, 'cause the green waste garbage can gets full pretty quickly. Also on Saturday, I pulled out a blue mist shrub and a golden privet that just weren't making me happy anymore. So much to do, so little time before the wedding(s)!
